Procure IT Faster Through NASA SEWP

The NASA SEWP V (Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement) GWAC (Government-Wide Acquisition Contract) provides access to the latest Information Technology (IT) products and services for all Federal Agencies and approved support service contractors.

 

FAR 16.505(b)(1) provides that each contractor shall be given fair opportunity to be considered for each order exceeding $10,000 issued under multiple-award contracts. The FAR states that the method used to obtain fair opportunity is at the discretion of the Contracting Officer (CO), and that the CO must document the rationale for placement and pricing of each order. The SEWP online RFI/RFQ tool is the recommended method to assist in this process and to support required decision documentation. The SEWP RFI/RFQ tool automatically includes Contract Holders within a selected Group or based on suggested sources.

The statutory authority allowing use of the SEWP V contract throughout the Federal Government is NASA’s designation as an Executive Agent by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), pursuant to the Information Technology Management Reform Act (ITMRA) of 1996, now known as the Clinger-Cohen Act. Delivering access to commercial Information Technology (IT) products and services, the NASA SEWP contract vehicle has a strong track record of providing current and emerging technology solutions to Federal Agencies.

 

The SEWP V contract offers a broad selection of advanced commercial technology, including desktops and servers, IT peripherals, networking equipment, storage systems, cybersecurity tools, software products, cloud-based services, telecommunications, Health IT, video conferencing systems, and other IT and Audio-Visual products. Product-based services such as installation and maintenance are also available to Federal Agencies (including the Department of Defense) and their authorized contractors.

SEWP V provides competitive pricing (often below GSA Schedule levels), a low contract surcharge (0.34%), and an efficient ordering process through pre-competed contract holders.
